A Life-Changing Experience with Reform Movement Chiropractic As a 42-year-old who thrives on an active lifestyle—OCRs, fitness challenges, CrossFit, Hyrox, and most recently rucking events—my life came to a screeching halt in November 2022. Out of nowhere, debilitating back pain set in. It wasn’t the result of an acute injury but something that developed over time. An MRI revealed mild stenosis in my lumbar region, a mild bulging disc at L4/L5, and some facet joint issues. I did what most people do: I went to see an orthopedic specialist. Physical therapy was prescribed, and I diligently followed through for three months. While there was some improvement, it was marginal at best. A follow-up with the ortho led to discussions of cortisone injections or ablations—options I wasn’t ready to entertain. So, for the next 10 months, I took matters into my own hands, rehabbing my back and doing “okay.” In January 2024, I pushed my limits and completed a grueling 24-hour, 68-mile rucking event.
