After worsening neck stiffness and back pain over the last two years, Dr. Shiau and the rest of the team at DISC have helped me make remarkably quick improvements in mobility and regaining pain-free movement. Most of my visits have consisted of spinal traction with moist heat, mild electric stimulation of the back/neck, and acupuncture, followed by chiropractic adjustments and muscle scraping. Every staff member I’ve interacted with is kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. The office is very efficient, with each visit (after the initial consult) lasting 25-35 minutes. It’s always been easy to schedule a follow-up visit, and they have very flexible hours. Metered street parking is available but limited, and parking garages nearby charge between $10-25.

Dr. Powell and his team run a great chiropractor service! The front desk staff were kind and attentive and clear on insurance coverage. This was my first time going to a chiropractor and doing acupuncture and didn’t know fully what to expect, but Dr. Powell walked me through the process and explained any imbalances and adjustments. I’ve been going to District Injury & Spine Center (DISC) for three and a half years, and I’ve told anyone who will listen about how truly fantastic it is. During my first session with Dr. Shiau, we sat in his office and discussed my history and current pain I was experiencing, and he talked about what my treatment plan would be. It is very rare to have a doctor truly listen the way he did (and continuously listen to me during my years of treatment), and make me feel so heard. Dr. Shiau treated me for issues related to my upper and lower back, hips, shoulders, knee and jaw, and I always walked away feeling so much better than when I walked in. His staff are warm and caring, and it’s always a fun treat when Orlando (Dr. Shiau’s corgi / office greeter) was in the office. I’ve referred so many people here, and it is truly a wonderful organization that helps heal and treat so many different ailments.
